ford978
My 2017 Ford Edge Titanium had the dreaded coolant seepage into cylinder 2 so I bought a brand new long block from Ford Dealership and swapped it out. It's running great but Check Engine Light came on with Code P0013 (B Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit / Open Bank 1). It's the sensor on the top protruding from valve cover towards exhaust cam. How should I diagnose it to see if its wire or the new sensor bad? Does Crankshaft position sensor has anything to do with it if its not position right? No, the actuator and sensor are not related in this case. The VVT actuator can be tested by applying 12v to it and watching it move. The coolant contamination of the oil has most likely fouled both the Intake and Exhaust VVT solenoids and should be cleaned, but this is an open circuit which requires the wiring and VVT coil checked. ford978
It turned out to be something very silly on my part. The connector backed out from vibration because I did not lock it properly. After clearing the codes no more check engine light even after 126 miles of drive.
