Emission Recall 24E10

Nothing else to report, Ford has no got back to me as of yet but we will see what happens. I left them a voicemail today.

So after them looking it over, they decided it had random power drain and somehow fixed it but they don't know how and charged me a bunch of money to do so. They claim it was not the recall but have no answer as to what caused it and don't really know how it was fixed. Just charged me a several hour diagnostic fee. I think they reflashed it and are playing dumb. I honestly don't know what to think. The power train control module they updated, started throwing codes literal minutes of driving after they did it and they swear it wasn't the update. I have had no issues since I have had the car and then all the sudden I have software problems after they update the software... All I know is the codes are gone and it doesn't die overnight now. So there's that. I'm kinda pissed but can't prove anything.

That strikes me as a significant decrease.What were your avg. speeds? What about your MPG for urban or non interstate driving?

How many miles on your vehicle?  How many codes has it ever thrown before? 
 

Dang, no reason this warranty fix should be causing MPGs to drop significantly or codes to be suddenly popping up.  

If anything, MPGs should be improving if the goal is to be lowering emissions!!!!

2015 Ford Edge here, received same notice from Ford in November '24, but because I had loaned car to friend and just got it back I couldn't call the dealer until now.  When I tried to schedule the service against this recall notice, they looked up my VIN (also on the letter sent from Ford) and they said there was now "no recall shown for my vehicle".  I came to the Ford site also and sure enough my car didn't show a recall anylonger - even though I never had it serviced and the email was directly from Ford.  Strange.  The dealer told me to check back in a month to see if it shows up again. Based upon some of the comments in this conversation string, not sure I want to pursue this further.t My Edge had a California smog check today and it passed just fine; however,  I only have 66,000 miles on the vehicle (not bad for over 9 year old car).

I wonder if they pulled the recall due to issues? If so, I would be very interested to see if anyone else has the recall pulled. It would give me a bit of a case to go back to ford and ask why it was pulled and see if I can get them to admit that was my issue all along.

No modifying Supplement to Emission Recall 24E10 has been posted to Ford's Professional Technician System (PTS) website, thus far.

 

If the affected vehicle population was being modified, a Supplement would be issued and/or if a pause in the Field Service Action was occurring, a notification would be posted to PTS.

 

If either of these announcements are made, I will post them here and to the original announcement.

 

Congrats on your Edge's successful smog test.

 

Was it a Basic Test with OBDII connection and tailpipe probe, or does your location require the Enhanced Test that included your Edge running on a dyno during sampling?

Interesting! I'll have to check mine. Congrats. on the clean smog check. To everyone else that got this letter and that has not had this reprogramming done: Does your vehicle still show that this reprogramming still needed?
