Intermittently, the drivers seat will not move forwards or backwards

Recommended Posts

This one has been fun!

2020 Edge ST

I do not have steps to replicate but what I am noticing every now and then, maybe once a week, maybe once every two weeks when I get in and start the car, my wheel and seat do not move into position.  The seat back can be adjusted, the steering wheel can be adjusted.  The seat will not move forwards or backwards.  Then, it will just work again like nothing happened.

Today, the seat is not moving when I press the memory recall buttons.  My mirrors and steering wheel will move but not the seat.

I've done some googling and see that other folks have had problems with Ford seats not moving but these seemed to be related to a fuse or switch.

Any thoughts?

  • 4 weeks later...

The problem with the seat intermittently not working seems to be increasing.  For grins, I pulled codes using forscan and found: B14CE:15A, B14D0:15-4A which seems to indicate an issue with wiring or a sensor from a very brief search on the internet.
