mattyb
As the subject says, I'd love an opinion from Edge owners on this listing. 2020 Ford Edge $14,939 CARFAX I drove the exact car as a rental a few weeks ago, and I freaking loved it. I've been in the market for a replacement vehicle for a little bit, and now, this is all I can think about! But... having come back and researched Edges, I bumped into all of the stories of issues plaguing the 2013-2018 models, and I got cautious. It sounds like those issues have been worked out in 2019+, but this price looks too damned good. Additionally, the car's got 90k on it after just 2020. Roughly 22k/yr! The salesman said this car was a rental, for the record. To be honest, this is a new process for me. All of my vehicles have been personal transactions with friends/family, so I'm trying not to get steamrolled by a slick salesman. How does this look to y'all? Thanks for your input! 1004ron
Looks good. What concerns me is the lack of service records up to the 43K mile, and the following oil change 9K miles later and a few more gaps in service history, also done by tire change places. The auction and what appears to be lengthy attempts to sell it after that would also concern me. Could be that the interior is worn and maybe need new OEM seat covers and that is putting off most potential buyers. Not something I'd touch, but if I was interested, I'd do a very thorough inspection or pay for that to be done.
TourGuide
Yeah - the service records - that is one concern - the other to me is - 2 owners and the second owner was in it only 16 months. My spidey sense is activated on that. People who get into a car usually don't get out of it in that length of time for no reason.
Tim W. AZ
Not all accidents make it on to the Carfax report. I'd be wary because last time I checked where I live, 2020's are still near 20K depending on mileage and I don't recall seeing one priced this low. Good luck. ebodell67
I would definitely pass on any rental. When I was younger and had to travel for work you would not believe the things I did to rental cars. And, I know I am not alone in the wanton abuse of them. Oftentimes I had to scab trim back on and run them thru the carwash multiple times (hey they were 4WD for a reason, well some of them were). Run, don't walk from a rental....
STBEAST
I too would pass on a rental/lease. I have had a lot of rentals over the years and although I was never overly abusive, I know that during the rental life of the vehicle, there were people who were. Some people just don't care. I also feel that rental companies are far from proactive on maintenance. I am sure that they pushed the boundaries of the scheduled maintenance. On more than one occasion I would get a rental with the low tire or oil change reminder alert. Stay Clear!
