DSL6830
My Edge will reach operating temperature like normal for the most part. But will drop while driving on the highway. Note it's hot and the ac is on max. and even when its off this issue is consistent. Sometimes I feel a thud while driving and the oil will be at normal temp for a while. But then drops. When my edge is having this issue running cold its a lot slower and louder. The thermostat has been replaced for the same issue earlier this year. I can't figure out what the issue is but i would like my car to last a while longer.
1004ron
Welcome. What brand thermostat did you use? The thermostat is the likely cause of the low coolant temperature when at speed, and don't think its related to some of the other issues you describe. DSL6830
I'm not sure ford did it.
1004ron
Quote The thermostat has been replaced for the same issue earlier this year. Did it resolve the issue at that time? If it did, then its more confirmation that its failed again - these days they're designed to "fail open".
DSL6830
It helped. But was not fixed all the way. It stopped the timing chin from falling loose.
