Biker
Public service announcement for an issue that scared the crap out of me today. Noticed a couple puddles of oil in the driveway today. Checked the usual suspects (my old trucks, and nothing. Looked under the edge, it was soaked in trans oil. Located the leak high up on trans, but could not get my hands on it from underneath. It pumps out hard at idle in park. Removed airbox, battery and battery tray, and the offending part is a solenoid mounted in the start/stop accumulator. It is held on by 2 small Allen head bolts, has a 2 wire electrical connector and can leak an astonishing amount of oil. The pics show the 2 failed blue O rings on the solenoid. Also shows the solenoid itself and the hole where it belongs. Not hard to get to There are a couple ground wires under the airbox on the frame. Mine were greenish, so I took them off, cleaned and lubed them and sprayed with battery terminal protector. . So, if this happens to you, it's not the end of the world.
