Tail Light Moisture Condensation 2019-2024

Recommended Posts

I occasionally get moisture inside of my passenger side inner tail light. This tail light only has reverse LEDs. I have read the other posts about moisture in the 2015-2018 tail lights, but I haven’t heard of 2019-2024 condensation.

Has anyone experienced condensation like this? Should I try to take apart the tail light to get rid of the moisture before my LEDs get killed? The tail light prices seem expensive. $200-400 USD.

My 2024 Edge St has/had the same thing in the driver's side rear light assy. Seems most of it has gone away, but I will check it and give an update. Other than cosmetic I don't think it would hurt the LEDS. I have heard of people drilling a small hole in the base of the light, but I don't know if that is a good strategy.

@Wubster100: Your Edge might qualify for a warranty replacement.

Mine came from the factory with holes already.  I thought they had corrected the issue.  I've never had condensation in mine (to my knowledge).

Hi Will2U, could you please mind to post a couple of pictures showing the location where the factory holes were drilled?

TIA

I hope these help.  The holes are smack dab in the middle of each lens.  There is one hole in each lamp unit.  I've included a contour shot since I don't know if Ford modified it when they added the holes.  They aren't noticeable unless you look for them.  Just large enough for air flow.
