Haz
Pending Ford's release of the Safety Recall 24C24 Dealer Bulletin, the following NHTSA Letter will temporarily serve as its informational placeholder... Gratitude to @markfm for bringing this to my attention. Edited September 10, 2024 by Haz

markfm
I find this part of the notice people are seeing on their phones today interesting: "... as part of the correction for this issue, the global close feature for the door windows will be removed..." To me that would indicate they really have, at best, a "halfway" solution; whether they're having a problem coding the 100N maximum force or how wide the window has to open if it does sense a problem, I have no idea. Removing a functionality is a band-aid - maybe enough to get them to say they're "fixing" the recall, but hopefully they'll continue working it in the background, so it can be re-activated when they get the software right. dabangsta
My 2017 Escape came with Global Up enabled, but in one of the SSM, CSP, TSB, or recall issues unrelated to it disabled it. I had gotten used to it, as my older 2012 Fusion only had down, and with out fail I would have to run out and put them up and close the sun roof, but my 2015 Fusion I could do it from the remote, and 2017 to begin with I could also.
