Tronjo
Hi, folks. Here is a riddle: The vehicle is Edge ST 2019 60,000 km (37,300 mi). Some time ago a strange knocking noise started coming from the back. Sounds like knocking metal to metal. It appears mainly in traffic jams when the vehicle never comes to full stop, but is driven with frequent brake-accelerator sequence, and when the speed drops somewhere between 25 and 35 km/h (15 – 22 mi/h), or sometimes at higher speed when releasing and then engaging again the accelerator again. Almost never present uphill, and more pronounced downhill. Rarely, only at low speeds, it is accompanied with bucking. Otherwise the gear switching is very smooth. The technician said “don’t warry, it is normal”. Does not seem “normal” to me – it is a new thing. Any ideas what may cause this? Can it be the process of engaging/disengaging the rear axle? Tronjo
Thank you, akirby I don't think it comes from the shocks, be cause if it was, it would have been present at all speeds, not just at specific scenarios. Cheers!
