Calm Screen Shortcut???

Recommended Posts

I have a 2024 Edge St. To initiate 'calm screen' I have to go through 3 moves (settings, general and then calm screen). Does anyone know if there is a calm screen shortcut. I have seen it on other Ford vehicles but not the Edge. Anybody know if there is? Such a great feature to have, just a pain in the neck to activate, especially when driving. Thanks

I tried to press my volume knob in, and it only turn the media on/off. I also tried twisting it at the same time. The silver ring on the outside of the volume button only twists, but it does not push in. When I turned the volume button and pushed it in, the volume would just increase/decrease, then the media would turn off. It isn’t like other SYNC 4 systems where there is a center knob that you can push in to get to the calm screen.

I was looking in other forums. A few stated that it would work (pressing the vol) others said wouldn't. Think they had different radios. Couple (back in 2022 or 2023) said it worked after a software upgrade ( why i mentioned it.)

There's probably no way it can be done on your radio. Pressing & holding the volume knob was to only way I've ever read about (other than those radios that had a dedicated knob for it.)

The only advantage I've noticed on mine was it makes the interior of the car dark at night. But, I usually leave my navigation running when I'm on the road. (On my Sync 1 system it's called "Display". On/off/status bar.)

I know I am late to the party, but any updates? I just purchased a used 2024 Edge Titanium and love it. One of the first things I have tried to figure out is how to get to the Calm Screen without all the fuss of the menus.

SYNC Bezel Diagnostics?

It was a long time ago, but I don't think it was SYNC related, it just displayed there. I mostly remember it displayed mph, GPS location, longitude/latitude, and one or two other things.

Been searching for a document that described the sequence and finally found it in the cloud. It wasn't my Focus, it was my 2016 C-Max Energi.
With the car off, press the left OK button then with your foot on the brake press start. Hold the OK until ET displays in the top left corner of the left screen. Use the down arrow to cycle through the diagnostic screens. At the fifth screen will be the diagnostic test codes. If there are no codes the screen will be blank. To exit press and hold the left OK button until clear.

As I was typing, I thought the above might be something different, but I was too far in to abandon the effort. I'm going to see if this does anything on my 2020 Edge.

Don't know if this is the same diagnostics, but you can also  access the hidden diagnostics menu by pressing and holding the SIG button on the steering wheel and    dashboard at the same time. (The radio needs to set to an FM or AM station.)

Once in the menu, you can run tests and change settings.
