eric1
2019 Ford Edge Titanium AWD with 85k miles. When I accelerate from a stop and make a turn, I hear a clunk / thud coming from the rear. I believe it’s coming from the rear differential. I’m not sure how to replicate the noise because it doesn’t happen every time. any ideas? Katyliz
We had the same problem, just had it repaired, they had apparently not welded one of the welds on the rear subframe, we have 20,000 Kim’s on a 2020 model, the dealership tried 4 different warranties to get it fixed no way, past the 3 year warranty, so diappointed

What you describe falls in the category of Latent Defect, and should have been addressed with Ford Corp. Could you share the details of the missing weld location and component? How was this repaired and by who - if it's a structural weld, which it sounds like it was, then there'd be special weld procedures involved. Or total replacement because of the original defect, rather than backtracking the manufacturing process.
