slideways
We have a 2008 AWD SEL now that has 203k on it (still original water pump). Been through some PTU's, plugs/coils,bearings etc. We decided when the wife's Sorento ate a head gasket that the safe bet was to buy another N/A edge. They aren't the easiest thing to find since everyone went ecoboost but i bought a 2017 Titanium with 74k on it. Wife likes it. No issues for the first 1k so far. What i'm trying to figure out is what are the differences between my 08 and this 17 that i should be aware of? What am i watching for to fail? It has so much more electronic gadgetry going on with perimeter cameras and lane departure and electric motors in the column etc but im hoping i made a good choice here. It seems like drivetrain wise they are the same engine/trans/ptu etc? I didnt even get the foam engine cover off to inspect the thing yet (seemed like even that was a chore) and i will crawl under it to see if everything is laid out the same under there. Thanks for the info
enigma-2
There are 7 recalls on the 2017 Edge. https://www.kbb.com/ford/edge/2017/recall/#:~:text=recall 17V-427.-,Summary%3A,may have been inadequately welded.&text=Enter Your VIN-,Tip%3A Recalls don't affect every vehicle of the, same year%2C make and model. I'd imagine that there are hundreds of small changes (some good, some to save money.)
