Customer Satisfaction Program 24B23 - Certain 2024 Nautilus Full Hybrid Electric Vehicles - Oct 7, 2023 through Feb 29, 2024 Build Dates - High Pressure Fuel Injector Replacement

Recommended Posts

If you are driving a 2024 Nautilus Full Hybrid Electric, contact your dealer's Service department and ask them to determine from Ford's OASIS system if your vehicle is affected by Customer Satisfaction Program 24B23. If your vehicle's VIN is identified as affected, ask them to contact Ford's Special Service Support Center (SSSC) for authorization to provide you a long-term rental, based upon the risk of damage to your vehicle's engine and potential depletion of its high voltage battery if a high-pressure fuel injector failure occurs. If the Service representative initially resists your request for a rental, tell them you are aware that Ford is telling dealers not to demonstrate or deliver affected vehicles on their lot, and -- if those vehicles should not be driven, then your affected 2024 Nautilus should also not be driven. While only the SSSC can potentially authorize a long-term rental while your vehicle is parked at the dealership, your dealership might provide you a short-term loaner via the Pickup & Delivery process while they await a response on their long-term rental request from the SSSC.

Good luck!

*** This is an advanced notice to dealers of Customer Satisfaction Program 24B23 -- This post will be updated when additional information becomes available ***

Highlights

  • Ford recommends that dealers DO NOT DEMONSTRATE OR DELIVER any new in-stock vehicles involved in this Customer Satisfaction Program.
  • US population of affected vehicles: 6,574.
  • In all of the affected vehicles, a high-pressure fuel injector tip may crack or become dislodged from the injector.
  • Continued use of the vehicle could lead to an engine hydro-lock condition, resulting in a “Stop Safely Now” message displaying in the instrument cluster and the vehicle transitioning to electric drive mode.
  • Continued driving in electric drive mode will deplete the high voltage battery, which may result in a loss of motive power.
  • Dealers cannot begin repair of affected vehicles until the Full Notification To Dealers is released, likely by the end of June, 2024.
  • This advance notice was conveyed to dealership Service personnel via Ford's OASIS system on May 2, 2024.

Have you heard anything about an update on this, possibly moving the Dealer Bulletin in to mid-May rather than late June?  Someone mentioned that last night, checking to see if you've heard the same.

FB Group member/commenter's spouse is Service-related manager at Ford dealership in Georgia, and -- despite @markfm's best efforts acting as a liaison from this Forum to that Group, the Georgian commenter is imprecise about 'mid-May' meaning.

As always, whenever additional information is released through OASIS, I will update here.

Good luck!

@markfm has rightfully observed that the Ford of Canada Advance Notice states the Full Dealer Notice is expected by the end of May 2024, which I overlooked in my haste to post that communication...

The Full Dealer Bulletin and Technical Instructions were posted to the OASIS server, but have not been announced on the Professional Technician System (PTS) site.

The PTS announcement will likely occur on the morning of May 21, 2024.

Ford of Canada Full Dealer Bulletin has not yet been released, but it will be added here when it becomes available.

Gratitude to @markfm for his sharing.

05/21/2024 Edit: As expected, from PTS...
