edgewithme
Hello and thank you in advance for your time. I have a 2013 Ford Edge 2.0 with Ecoboost. It has 154,000 miles on it. Recently I was having an issue with not getting any warm air when heater was on. Although I concluded it was the Temperature Control Valve, I also replaced the thermostat and water pump. As I was putting the very last bolt in, the one that secures the coolant reservoir and the windshield wiper fluid reservoir to one another, I dropped the bolt into the engine compartment and it fell right where my drive belt and Cam Shaft Position Sensor are located and ripped the sensor off. I replace the sensor, but I never inspected the belt. Everything was working great, HVAC was working how it was supposed to, engine coolant was properly bled. This past Tuesday I was driving to work and I started to get a charging system warning and then immediately a coolant temp warning. I pulled over, lifted the hood, and coolant in reservoir was boiling. I let the car sit for 30 mins and then got in to drive the last 1/2 mile to my destination where I could investigate further. 1/4 mile in as I was making the last turn my power steering went out and 25 ft later the car died. I figured with all that going on at once, my drive belt had failed, and it had. I went to Autozone and bought a new belt and a jump box. I installed the new belt and tried to start, but it wouldn't. I tried to use the jump box, and it wouldn't. I flagged someone down and asked if they had cables and if I could get a jump. They did, and hooked up from their end and I hooked up from my end and jumped in the car to try to start. I noticed smoke coming from his car at battery so I screamed take the cables off and we both removed asap. He had mistakenly put the cables on the wrong battery posts. Darn! I put them on properly and after a couple minutes my car started up. I thanked him and we both went our separate ways. As I was driving I noticed that nothing on my center console was lit up (display, radio or temp controls) and that my front defroster was blowing on high heat, but I couldn't do anything about it because none of that was working. I discovered later that the only thing working in that area are the Hazard lights. My airbag warning light is also always present now when the car is on. The car starts up and drives fine, but the airbag light is on and the defroster is pumping out hot air. I checked the fusible links and fuses in the engine compartment and they were fine. I checked in the passenger area and fuse #29 (20amp) was blown. I figured it had blown when the car was jumped, so I bought another 20 amp fuse and that blew too. I thought shoot, I didn't take off the negative from the battery, so I did that and put in another fuse, connected the negative to the battery, started the car and the stuff still wasn't working, checked the fuse and that was blown again. So I need to find out why Fuse #29 keeps blowing. I pulled the fuse and tested with a voltmeter and get 12.39 Volts and 1.75 amps and 0 continuity with the engine off and 13.59 Volts and 1.75 amps and o continuity when the engine is running. What do I do?
