dr_fsmo
I have a 2019 AWD SEL 2.0: with the 8F35 transmission. I just rolled 33,000 miles so I changed the transmission fluid. I drained a bit over 4 quarts and added just a bit more when refilling. Afterwards I drove it for 20 minutes and when getting back to my garage unscrewed the check plug and approximately 2 quarts drained out. Is this a normal amount? I drove the vehicle afterwards and it seems to shift OK.
kruzr1
That doesn't seem right. There should've only been approximately the difference between what you drained and what you added come out the level plug. Was your vehicle sitting level when you did the fluid level process? Did the transmission fluid temp reach normal operating temperature?
dr_fsmo
The temperature should have been at normal operating temperature after a twenty minute drive. I also did check it with the vehicle on. I am going to take it for a drive today, and check it again at level. Like you said it does not make sense unless someone put too much in before I bought it. dr_fsmo
I made sure the vehicle was level, which might have been the issue. It magically took the two quarts.?
kruzr1
Glad it worked out
