Michaelbrownlee
My 2013 edge with a 2.0 Is saying low oil pressure. I’ve put two new oil pressure switches in. I’ve also checked oil pressure with a gauge. The gauge says it’s about 60-70 psi on startup and drops to 45-50 after oil is hot. Any ideas why I keep showing a low oil pressure light? 1004ron
What RPM for the pressures you listed? Is the light on all the time or at idle only?
Michaelbrownlee
Just whatever normal idle rpms are is when I checked pressure. I’m not at home to give exact right now. The light is on all the time. Edited December 5, 2023 by Michaelbrownlee
dabangsta
45-70 psi at idle? That seems pretty high. 20-30 depending on temperature is more the normal. I did a similar thing with a 3.5 that had the pressure light on first at a few specific stops, then sometimes under 1200 rpm, I checked it with a mechanical gauge and it didn't drop below 20 psi even when it was 110 degrees out and the engine up to full temp (I replaced the sender and that fixed it for me). The third one worked. 1
1004ron
What brand switch were the duds? - just so that others know what to avoid, although for items like this I'd stick with OEM.

I don’t recommend the ones oreillys or auto zone sales. I bought OEM from the dealer to fix it.
