Alfred
My 2011 Edge Limited FWD Sync/My Ford Touch is dead. I located a few at the junk yard. The junk yard lady told me she needs the ID number off the module to insure I receive the correct one. I went to my local Ford (Brondes) dealer to help me locate the ID. They told me there was nothing they could do because the ID was located in the settings. Since the Sync would not come on. There was no way to find the number. I said so, if you replaced it and you could not get the ID off because the Sync does not work what would you do? They did not know and sent me to the parts department. There I received no help as well! So, here I am. Can someone please help me out. Thank you.
enigma-2
If you have a black screen and no audio,, the APIM has failed (very common on the 2011 & 2012 model years). Make certain your getting a non doa on the junk yard unit as very prone to failure. The module ID is on a label on the back of the module. Once you pull the unit out, the id sticker is on the module. You can just pull the unit out and take it to the junkyard. But, I <think> that the replacement unit will need to be programmed. There are also websites that offer replacements (preprogrammed with your VIN) that also include navigation. $500 for non-nav, $600 for nav, $750 for nav and card. But its plug-n-play and your paying for convenience. https://www.4dtech.com/replacement-sync-2-module-apim-myford-touch/
oneglory
I upgraded my 2014 to Sync 3 and have my Sync 2/MFT that I was gonna sell to infotainment.com. They offered me $100 for the screen and APIM, if you still need a cheap replacement and would rather not deal with a junk yard shoot me a PM. I'll give you both for the same quote+shipping? 1004ron
I'm selling the parts I took out my wife's Mustang when I upgraded to Sync 3 - not sure if any of the parts would work on the Edge. I bought my kit from a guy that sells only Ford parts and his own custom made adapter harness - much cheaper than 4DTech and Infotainment - let me know if interested and I'll PM his contact. https://louisville.craigslist.org/pts/d/louisville-ford-mustang-sync-control/7382237598.html
Alfred
My 2011 Edge Sync has gone belly up. The Dealer wants my first born to fix the issue. What is the best way to fix the issue. Could it be a fuse? Also, I have no clue on how to repair it. I live in Toldeo, Ohio. Is there anyone in the area that can repair it for me? Thank you for the help. Edited September 4, 2023 by 1004ron
