PhatAir4Me
2016 2.0 2T, coolant intrusion, complete long block replacement at dealer, picked up yesterday and no AC. It is blowing air, heater works, cooled seats do not. Dealer will look at it today if I bring it in but it is an hour away and if something simple I would like to save the approx four hours in my day to go to dealer. Wife drove car to work today so it is not here at the house. I searched AC not working and searched 10 of the most recent pages in this forum. A list of things I will check as follows but would like to ask if anyone can add something before I drive to her work. 1. Fuse #22 under hood 2. Defrost and climate control button push at same time and or also read Power and Auto for two seconds, release and push power again 3. Put on max AC and ensure the fans are both running at idle Thanks in advance JP
enigma-2
Couple of thoughts to add to your list. 1. Check to see if they forgot to reconnect the electrical connection to the compressor. 2. With the ac set to max, is compressor running? PhatAir4Me
They never charged it. When my wife got home I went out to check out the aforementioned items and quickly determined it had no charge. It was also 1.5 Qt low on oil, they broke the wire stay for the MAF, the lower intercooler connection was about ready to fall off, only two of the four pegs that hold the trim piece on top of the motor were in the right spot and one was missing, there was a bolt missing on a bracket. I took it back to them and said call me when it is done and I will need a rental car on you. We got it back Monday night, my wife drove it to work yesterday and on the way home it threw a PO325 knock sensor code!
2015EdgeOwnerCA
What were your initial symptoms before long block replacement? We are going through a similar issue and wondering if this is a future recall since I am finding multiple similarities here with these engines. In our case it was engine light on reading a misfire, then overheating where first mechanic couldn't find the leak and just maxed the coolant, lost the coolant in a week and took it to ford and they found a crack in the long block....Guess there is a lot of 2.0 engine failures for Ford Edges, but at least replace the bad part you put in for free right?
