schwebs
I just got a 2019 Ford edge Titanium with the 2.0. Putting a k&n filter worth it? Also what kind or type of oil filters y'all using and recommend?
enigma-2
Bobistheoilguy.com ran a test on oil filters a few years ago. Mobile One scored highest (and one of the most expensive). But high up on the testing was Motorcraft. Best for price. Also AC Delco. K&N products are really questionable. In their air filters for example, they advertise (or use to advertise, don't follow them) that their filters allow more air through. And they do. It's because they were originally designed for racing and not street use (the filter material is designed for the larger stuff, not the micron stuff that can hurt the cylinder walls.) Their filters didn't score very high. -> You cannot do better than Motorcraft Edited April 1, 2023 by enigma-2
1004ron
The engine cannot ingest more air than the OEM filter can flow, so the main selling point of the K&N is mute.
handfiler
Turns Out High-Performance Air Filters Actually Do Give You More Power The gains are there but a pretty small increment that you won't notice. More than likely at the expense of reduced filtration.
