omar302
Hi, Did you happen to figure the leak issue? My coolant level seemed to recently decrease, yesterday was the first time I saw coolant on the ground. Turned out to be a leak from the connection between the heater hose and the lower radiator hose. The plastic connection that is under the two hoses going from the Air filter box to the intake. The connecter is plastic, and there is a white "filling" or supposedly some kind of sealer, but apparently it is now hard and does not seal. Parts list don't show a replacement except for the complete heater hose. Replacing it is expensive and seems to be a bit more involved. Perhaps @Haz , can you please help with the removal and replacement of the heater hose? Mine is with the Hot Market cooling system, don't know if the procedure is different, bug I know the hose is different. P/N is F2GZ-8B081-F. clay0708
Hi all, I just located a coolant leak on my 2016 Edge Sport, 2.7L EcoBoost. Appears to be dripping from a radiator hose quick connect located just beneath the air intake. It's a "Y" connection, and when agitated, it drips coolant quite a lot. Can anyone tell me what part this is specifically, and what it would look like to replace it? Could I just replace the Y connection since the hoses are all fine? Thanks for the help!
omar302
If I'm not mistaken in my Edge the leak was from the Plastic piece circled below. It was like the outer piece enlarged and would not seal properly. Unfortunately it is part of the full heater hose. This part. Though you have to make sure this is the correct part number for your Edge. Mine is a GCC model with extra cooling so the hose is different. The part I linked above should be the for the standard North America model.
clay0708
@omar302 man, thank you so much! I was about 90% sure thats what it was, but helps to have some confirmation. I suppose I'll need to drain the whole coolant system to swap this hose out?
1004ron
clay0708 you could just pull the hose and add coolant to bring it back to normal working level, but is it due for complete replacement on mileage/age? Also, check to see if yours qualifies for the upgraded transmission linkage bush. . Edited January 23 by 1004ron
clay0708
@omar302 Whats the deal on the linkage bush?

There was a recall to replace a small plastic bushing that could fail and then the shift lever would disconnect from the transmission. The connecter circled below in your photo clearly shows that it was NOT done, or not done fully/properly.
Haz
Welcome to the Forum, @clay0708! In addition to the bushing replacement, fulfillment of Safety Recall 22S43 provides for installation of a protective cap...
