Kevin udell
I replaced my tranny sensors and thought I did everything correctly. However, the vehicle tranny shifts, but does not engage in reverse or drive. Engine revs without any connection to the tranny. My local mechanic suggested adding more fluid, which did not fix the issue. Clearly I did something incorrectly, any thoughts? 2008 Ford Edge fwd 180k miles. spoke with my Tranny mechanic and he said most probably did not line up all of the plates, etc. with the tranny body and fluid is running through the system, so he suggests taking it apart again and double checking to make certain all is installed correctly. I'll keep you posted, thanks Edited April 8, 2022 by Kevin udell

WWWPerfA_ZN0W
a ) check wiring is not pinched, assuming motorcraft sensors were installed? b ) check manual release valve and shift pin are correctly installed and in correct position c ) check the transmission cable and shift lever alignment - rare to be knocked out of place, but on the table as a final possibility
