13_Edge
Hello, hoping someone can help guide me in the right direction on this issue. I have a 2013 Edge (late 2012 build date) that did not come with a remote start so I purchased the 200 series kit (part number BB5Z-19G364-C). Installing was simple enough, and I was able to use Forscan to turn the features on for BCM and the instrument cluster. The issue I'm having now is that none of my key fobs are working anymore. I installed the kit yesterday and immediately following that the key fobs all stopped working, even before I enabled the remote start functions using Forscan. When I attempt to program any of the fobs back to the car, I follow the open driver's door, unlock, turn the ignition on/off eight times, etc and the locks cycle to show that programming mode has been entered. When I press any of the key fob buttons the car does not recognize any of them and after ten or twenty seconds the locks cycle again and the car exits programming mode. The remote start fob that came with the kit doesn't work either, and I can get it to be recognized during programming. Has anyone experienced this before? Thank you,
13_Edge
Forgot to add, I've tried disabling the remote start feature in forscan and removing the entire kit, the key fobs still don't work and I'm not able to program them with everything removed either. jmr061
Did you plug an antenna into the TPMS module in the back side of the vehicle? If you did you may have unplugged it or damaged the wiring going to it.
13_Edge
I did plug an antenna into the rear tpms module, and I was wondering about exactly that. If I damaged the wiring going to the tpms module in the rear would that cause the fobs to stop communicating with the vehicle? I wasn't sure if the tpms module (or even the new antenna, thought I tried with it unplugged as well) would effect the regular key fobs. jmr061
The TMPS receiver is also the receiver for the fobs.
13_Edge
Thanks jmr, I didn't realize the tpms module was also tied in with the standard key fob system. It sounds like I probably damaged a bit of the wiring when pulling the panel off initially, I'll dig into the loom to see if I can trace it out. enigma-2
Check fuses #6 & #27. You may have inadvertently grounded a circuit during installation.
13_Edge
Thanks for the help jmr and enigma, I was able to get it working today. I chased the tpms wiring through the harness and found a section where two of the wires had torn. I spliced new 6" sections in but still wasn't getting anything after that so I checked on the fuses as enigma recommended and #6 was popped. Must have happened when the wires got damaged during panel removal. Anyway, swapped in a new fuse and everything is working correctly so thanks again for all the help!
