AF_Vet
I have a 2016 Edge Titanium AWD with the 3.5L engine. The car has 23,000 miles. There is a sound (like shaking marbles) that seems to be coming from the A/C system. There is no sound in the cabin, just when you stand outside the passenger side. The pitch changes when the A/C cycles on/off. Does anyone have an idea what his might be? My mechanic cannot seem to sort it out. I searched high and low trying to find a thread on the forum that deals with this, but to no avail. If one escaped me, please let me know. enigma-2
From your description I would suspect the fan assembly. Fans run differently when a/c on. Check noise with a/c off. Then turn on a/c to MAX (forces fans to come on full). If sound changes, fan assy may be loose (or defective bearing). gonesail
i have a similar rattle sound on my 2016 that i hear when driving .. starts at speeds over 55 or 60 .. not loud but can be irritating. it sounds like something may have fallen where it should not have? coming from what seems to be the area near or behind the monitor screen. i have banged and pushed to no avail. i have not checked the AC to see if it is coming from there.
