Jrod77
https://vimeo.com/645447821 Hey guys, I’m not sure if this has been talked about yet or not but I figured I would share a little personal video of the noise I hear when I’m moving forward. It does not make the noise when I’m driving in reverse or in reverse while under a load, just while moving forward. The video is me starting from a stop light and merging onto a highway at about 45 mph. I have a 2015 Ford Edge SEL AWD V6. I was thinking PTU but figured I would ask. Jrod77
I think I got it now. I had to shorten the video
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
what would YOU describe the sound as? to me it sounded like rubbing or a stuttering wheel, which could be axle or PTU related. my bet is that the PTU/RDU fluids have not been maintenanced since new. i would check those first to assess their condition. the driveshaft is engaged in all gears except P and N, so it SHOULDN'T be that, but check for play in the carrier bearings anyway. Jrod77
Okay so I wanted to wait until I got a definite answer as to what it was and it was the carrier bearing in the driveshaft. Luckily it was still under warranty and it was covered completely!
