van.d
Hi everyone, have an issue with our 2009 Edge. I searched the net and these forums but didn't have much luck. Recently while servicing the vehicle the hood would not stay closed, upon inspection I noticed one of the latch bolts was loose causing the latch to drop. In e-aligned the latch with the original bolts indent/mark and tightened it down, tested the hood several times opening/closing and it seemed fine. Then we went on a trip to upstate NY and the hood popped going 70mph! Luckily the safety catch caught it.. I dropped the hood again thinking I may have not have closed it correctly the last time and drove slowly to the next turnoff to head to an auto store to check over it in more detail and grab a 10mm spanner for the bolt incase it needed adjustment. Low and behold I could not get the hood to pop! It's stuck closed now. I have tried using pliers on the hood release cable from inside to give it an extra pull but no luck. We are about to head away again and hoping someone can help before we leave! Cannot seem to find easy acces to the latch through the grill. Is it possible to release the latch from the outside somewhere? Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated! DILLARD000
Have someone pull release handle under dash, while you're lifting front edge of the hood. Then liberally apply silicone spray lube to the latch before closing.

EddieHudson
You can also try pushing DOWN, and pull handle, then lift up.
