jwsykes62
I have a 2016 Ford Edge "SPORT" with a moonroof. I bought it used two weeks ago from Carvana. I discover that I can open the key fob near my passenger door without any issue when I have the key fob. But that is the case for the driver-side door (its stays lock). The only way to open the driver side is using the keypad or click the open button on the key fob. I do think the driver-side door is malfunctioning. Is this an easy fix, or do I need to take it to a Ford dealer? Thank you in advance for your answer to my question. Be safe and be well, everyone! omar302
So the driver door's intelligent access unlock function does not work, what about for locking the doors? I don't recall this issue being brought up before. What if you try the rear driver side door, does it then open all doors? The rear doors on the Edge also have intelligent access. If the rear door does open all door locks, my guess is that there might be a fault in the driver door handle or the connection to it. akirby
Just to make sure - because this has happened before - you’re reaching inside the door handle like you’re going to open it, right? The sensor is on the inside of the handle. Does it fail on both front and rear drivers side doors? Does the lock touch function work? enigma-2
From what I've read it's related to dirt or oils blocking the sensor. See if this post helps (different car, same problem). https://www.fordescape.org/threads/intelligent-access-keyless-lock-unlock-stopped-working-help.15393/
