jaymz
2013 Edge; V6. The car's steering causes it to "dart" all over the road...like there is "slop" in the steering. Steering holds steady, but when "correcting" there seems to be too much travel in the wheel; the car will then suddenly "dart" and correction needs to be applied to the steering wheel to return the car to it's course. Hard to drive in a straight line because of constant need to "correct" the course of the vehicle. We did have a power steereing issue where the banjo fittings on the hoses leaked. Steering pump probably got low on fluid. Could pump wear be the cause?
Waldo
Have you had the alignment check? Could be excessive toe-out in the rear.
enigma-2
Have you looked for worn: Tie rod ends? Ball joints? Control arm bushings? (Worn ball joints will track with every groove, run or dip in the asphalt.) Something is loose and sounds serious. One good pot hole and ooooohhhhhhh sssshhhhiiiiittttt. Waldo mentioned bad alignment. This usually shows up as bad tire wear. Are your tires wearing evenly?
