Ford Edge Bumper Cover Protector Saver Install - photos

Recommended Posts

I bought one of the rear bumper protectors from ebay. It installed very easily with three rows of 3M tape. It is thick enough rubber to truly protect the bumper during loading/unloading. I believe the Ford protector is just a thin sticker. The contour of the protector matched the curve of the bumper perfectly.

Description= FORD EDGE / MKX BUMPER COVER MOLDING 2007-2008 PREVENTS BUMPER SCRATCHES - Seller= tcmalcom. Price=$44.45 (including shipping).

I have attached four photos of the install and one scan of the install directions.

GO YELLOWJACKETS!!

TO HELL WITH THE UGA DAWGS!

not bad... still looks kind of thin like the Ford ones are? To bad the ALS savers are not available anymore, those were a bit longer (so more coverage) and definitely thicker and more stout (click my gallery to see mine).

"Let me ask.. why do people black out the license plate on pictures? I mean, don't hundreds of people see your plate on the road when you drive? I've always been curious to that.."

anonymity - something that is hard to get anymore. those "hundreds of people" do not know you, but the moment they can tie you to a post on the web, they know more. also, if you posted a plate, people could track that back to you and know more about you like "hey, there is that chick I always see posting on the Ford board" - and who wants that? you are an online reseller, so less of a reason to think twice about it, but heck, for that matter, why do 99% of all of us use bogus pseudo names and such? anonymity, simply anonymity.

Thanks Lex. I checked out your bumper saver pic and I really don't think it is any thicker than the one I have. I will try and take a profile photo and post it. Yours is a little longer, but the one I bought does cover the entire width of the actual back opening, so I should be covered. I do think I like the look of the longer one better though.

That looks about the same thickness as the ones from Ford. My dealer put mine on for no extra charge when I had it there for a couple of other things. They mounted it right out to the crease. Of course, I managed to make a small chip in the paint just outside the protector taking a door out of the back.
