SpecializedKG
I have a new to me ‘13 SEL AWD. 72k on the clock. I recently had the check engine light come on at about the same time she started making a sputtering noise. Sent her to the mechanic and was told the canister purge valve was bad. They did a smoke test followed by a sniffer test but couldn’t find anything wrong. Reset the check engine light and she runs fine except the sputtering noise is still present. It almost sounds like an exhaust leak, but not as loud or as prevalent. Any ideas what could be causing the sputtering noise? Thanks in advance. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Did they replace the purge valve? Do you have trouble starting the engine right after a fillup? Yu should get your own OBDII adapter and Forscan Lite software to have more ability to monitor the health of your vehicle yourself.
SpecializedKG
No they didn’t replace the purge valve. No trouble starting after a fill up either. I’ll look into an adapter and the software. Thanks.
