cciminelli
Hi All, Sorry if this topic has been posted before but I recently tapped a higher curb and my front collision assist sensor is showing as blocked in my dashboard. I did some investigating yesterday and found that the sensor itself appears to be fine and all connections intact. However, the problem appears to be that the plastic bracket holding the sensor has broken causing the sensor to hang lower behind the lower bumper grill. Is there anyway to access this sensor / bracket without taking the bumper off? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks

enigma-2
I was rear-ended couple of years ago and knocked one of sensors out. Damn thing beeped incessantly whenever I put the car in reverse. I was able to reach under the bumper and replace it in the opening (loose but sufficient to hold until repair). The body shop replaced the parts and painted the bumper without taking the bumper off. Other guys insurance paid, but I think it was around $750 for labor, new sensor, holder and paint (my MKX has the tricoat platium paint which is expensive to replace). spearso
So I just had this exact same issue. (2019 Titanium) It doesn't take much of a bump to knock that bracket loose or break it. The sensor still worked but but it was just hanging loose but connected behind the bumper. I took it to a local collision shop and they ordered and replaced the bracket in a day, and charged me $197, including parts and labor. It was worth it because I am pretty sure the bumper has to come at least partially off. Edited April 16, 2021 by spearso
