TurboFlush
In short.. Is the small line suposed to flow all the time or before the thermostat opens? I ask because i had drained the radiator for some work. Many days long. I forgot to refill and ran the engine while i put tools away. Fan kicked on and i instantly remembered and shut it down. Filled the system. Doesnt over heat. No coolant in oil. Drives fine. I think i wipped out the pump fin's. But want to make sure i am not just paranoid. Come to find now that the chains aparently stretch and water pumps fail near the 200k mark. 160k on mine. If i pinch off the top radhose i dont get anything from the surge tank vent. No No heat from heatercore. Could be air bubble. Next chance i got i am thinking to pull the top rad hose and see if i get any movement. TurboFlush
I got that. I know what direction it is suposed to flow into there. But when? I am getting none. Can someone confirm.. It flows when cold and/or when warm? Higher engine rpms? I couldnt find any conversation on this on google or any videos showing it in a refill procedure. David Young
It will flow when the thermostat opens.. I had to refill the degas bottle a couple times when I flushed the coolant in our 2014 Edge 3.5 and my 2011 Mustang 3.7. Unless you have a big air pocket Edited February 15, 2021 by David Young
TurboFlush
Good to know. Thank you. Pulled the trigger on the stuff to do the chain and pump. Hopefully the chain will be a good quality. Didnt buy ford. Not replacing phasers or sprockets. 160k they should be fine. But will inspect.
