Boxingtodd
Just purchased a previously owned Ford Edge for my son's first car. We have owned a few Fords over the years, but this is my first Edge. There are a few things that seem to need attention, so hopefully the forum will be a big help. Thank you,
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
welcome, and good luck! hopefully nothing major. keep engine oil and transmission fluid changed at frequent intervals. both engine and transmission gulp them down like there is no tomorrow. change all other fluids asap. we are seeing more abs unit failures than ever. flushing the system and bleeding the abs is important. Boxingtodd
Thank you for the information. we are already on changing all the fluids including brakes. he has over a month until he is legal, so we have some time to work on it.
enigma-2
Don't know your mileage, but changing plugs at 90k is also critically important. One other fluid to change is the PTU (if equipped). Lucky son, great car. My first was a piece of junk Ford that I had to work and save up for. (Don’t get much for $200, lol).
