ronrf1
Has anyone replaced the garbage Sync and radio found in the 2013 (or like) Ford Edge with a Boss Android auto system? If so what components from the Ford did you need to remove and if there is molding that you needed to purchase in it's place?

WWWPerfA_ZN0W
yes, people have replaced Sync 2 systems found in 2011-2014 Edge vehicles with aftermarket Android based systems by Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood etc. a popular upgrade is also to replace with Sync 3. not recommended to use those Tesla style screens you find so commonly for sale on eBay and Amazon nowadays. At least not if you want a responsive and uptodate system. Sync "4" will be on Android, Blackberry and Microsoft are history.
ronrf1
I find the last system that the URL was provided a little costly. Are there other systems that are similar that look like they are part of car (where I do not need to leave mouldings off or cut) post install? Can you provide links to products, please? DaMiFo
If you want to swap to SYNC 3, if you do it yourself (at least source the parts), it's the same or cheaper than a decent aftermarket double-din unit. The price in the link above is ridiculous (tho some people pay for it). If you want an aftermarket unit, Metra makes a double-din dash kit.

Most just live with the factory HU & simply add an aftermarket subwoofer and amplifier. If you want a more complete / better end product, upgrade some of the key mid-range speakers & add an aftermarket 4 channel amp and you will be rocking!! The issue with aftermarket HU, you're going to lose some factory features, just depends on how many, depending on which HU / interface you use. Maestro, etc. Seat warmers, heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, are generally the most common things lost.
