bogmanglen
We have a 2017 SEL with 48k miles. We developed a strange noise behind the dash, either the center stack or the glovebox area. My wife describes it as a low pitched, brief, buzzy chirp, to me, it sounds like a servo motor briefly actuating. It does it intermittently, climate on or off, when it does it, it is every 5-10 seconds. Any ideas appreciated. Brys00gt
We are having the same issue. Did you ever figure it out?
enigma-2
I think I know what this is. I've experienced this in my 2009 MKX. While wife and I were on a day trip. Grew louder, so we got off the interstate and shut the car off. Restarted and it was gone. Eventually traced it to the HVAC motor. Bearings actually. But it went away and only returned once a year. Couple of years ago I pulled the blower out of the housing and checked it. Tried working some super lube into the bearings and haven't heard a chirp or rub since. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OBV1JC2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_usraGbAAFC4HN Originally I planned on replacing the blower motor but I haven't heard it in a couple of years. bogmanglen
Thanks, Enigma! I'e been offline for a while, but I'll give it a try. Is removing the blower motor a big job?
bogmanglen
At the risk of sounding crazy, we have determined that this noise only occurs at night!
enigma-2
OK, that's officially wierd. Lights have to be on to chirp. Still think its the blower motor. Next time it starts chirping, turn the blower completely off and see if it stops too.
