dolsen
I have been working with Unleashed tuning for my E50 tune and Torrie noticed an erratic signal coming from the WGDC? (Waste Gate... DC??? I'm not really sure). This happens on all of my aftermarket tunes and my stock tune according to Torrie. The stock tune isn't AS erratic as his tunes, but is still erratic. I'm simply going off of what he told me. I am not very familiar with this tuning stuff. He told me he believes it is likely coming from "the boost control system, actuators, control module or lines in between those." Does anyone have any previous experience with failure and/or replacement of any of these issues? There are no CEL codes, but there also was no codes thrown when there was an intake leak from a broken fitting, so I am not sure what to make of that. Any help or direction would be excellent
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
I would start by checking the blowoff valves and cracked turbo piping, esp right next to the clamps. sometimes a hose will pop off the boost control solenoid as well, if they are left unclamped. The orange seal I am referring to on the blowoff valves *3.5EB https://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9946.0;attach=20463;image https://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9946.0;attach=20465;image

CrackedDSM
WGDC is wastegate duty cycle. Depending on the value input, it controls boost up or down by activating or closing the WGA. It means he’s commanding it to do one thing and instead of being steady it’s running what boost it wants. If it was a solenoid or etc wrong there’d be a code for sure. Boost leak/vacuum leak test is paramount. It also may be a leaking BPV because apparently this platform struggles with that when you turn up the wic. Honestly an easy way is you could spray the intake track, then intercooler piping, then vacuum lines in order and one at a time with soapy water and watch for bubbling. Have someone rev it too while you watch.
