Sitting in Idle and stalls out and oil pressure light comes on

Sadly,  your car would run without any oil for a while. Low oil level has nothing to do with it.  By the time you get to add oil to it whatever electronic module is bad has had time to cool down and will let you start the car.  It seems that you are saying this only happens when you are idling for a long time.  This would cause heat buildup in the engine compartment.   Does your engine run rough before stalling or does it just turn off?   Do your cooling fans work?

Having a problem with my 2011 ford edge, the car will start up fine but once I drive it for around 3 minutes it will stall out and I would have to turn it off and start it up again. When I start it back up again it turns on just fine but the problem will keep occurring. I had the throttle body cleaned out but I can’t find out what the problem is anywhere, took the car to different mechanic and no one can find out exactly what is wrong with it. I got told by one it is was the fuel pump and another said to replace the whole throttle body. If anyone has had this same problem and resolved it please let me know how. I’ve seen a lot of posts about this same issue. Anything helps, please and thank you.

Welcome.

Sounds like you've got a few acquaintances that like guessing at your expense, ..... don't listen to them.

You could stop by a place like AutoZone and have them scan it for stored fault codes, or more reliable get a ODBII adapter and Forscan app (free) and scan it.

Along with shutting down either a low oil pressure message will appear or a see manual with a wrench will appear.

Anything else you haven't mentioned?

Clear the codes and scan it with Forscan.

I have a 2011 Ford Edge that just stalled again for the 3rd time. The first two times were in May and it just happened again this weekend. The first two times I was on the highway (with kids in car) and car just stopped accelerating and the wrench light came on. Thankfully I was able to steer car to side of road as it coasted to a stop. It happened again this weekend in neighborhood, going 35mph. Took it to dealer all 3 times. First time they said I had carbon build up in fuel system and charged me $400. Second time said they couldn't "duplicate" the problem, but said they "recalibrated" the system. The car is at the dealer now for 3rd stalling incident and they say they can't find anything wrong. I'm afraid I'm going to get killed in this car. From what I've read, most people that have had this issue, it was the throttle body. They refuse to replace it because they say it's testing okay. Anyone else with similar problem get their car fixed and if so what was the problem?

Have the same problem here, hopefully you see this 7 years later lol. Were you ever able to find out what was the problem ?
