willow1313
My 2013 Edge is making a whistling sound (my kids describe it is a train's brakes screeching or a tea kettle when it is ready) that seems to be coming from the right side under the hood. The sound ramps up when I am driving above 40 MPH or so and cycles up and then off when driving. I made a YouTube video of the sound (you might have to turn it up to hear). I am not very knowledgeable about cars, so I am trying to avoid a trip to the mechanic, as money is tight (thanks, COVID). Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) Video: https://youtu.be/U-06i86WzFw

willow1313
It has 94,000 mules and we are the third owners, but the maintenance record is up to date and there have been no major repairs or issues (at least not in the Carfax report). We did have an issue with climate control a month or so ago, but were able to fix it with a reset we found online. We also just replaced the battery.
PaulSchott
If it's the belts making noise you can try spraying them with water while the car is running. Any change and the belts need changing.
