Almicar
Today I was hunting a possible leak in my power steering system. Took the car on a quick drive after cleaning it the pervious night. When I returned home I parked over top of my cardboard. When I get out it is actively dripping a red oil on the drivers sidewith a strong smell. Anyone have any idea what this may be? I suspect a transmission line is leaking but the dipstick still has fluid on it.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
awd or fwd? power steering high pressure hose is the most likely culprit. on awd vehicles, it can leak between the trans and the PTU. passenger side. driver side, it is most likely the cv axle where it goes into the transmission. a few cases of the main control cover and torque converter housing leaking also.
