Zfleck
Hey All I’m trying to do some research in upgrading to Sync 3. I have a 2011 Limited and what I assume is Sync 2. My question is: if I already have the touch screen from the old unit, is it necessary for the new one? Thanks!
dolsen
Yes, you will need a new touch screen and APIM (the module that attaches to the back of the touch screen). While Sync3 is more-or-less plug and play, there are also some programming updates that will need to be made (updating the as-built data) in order for it to work correctly. It's not hard, but it's also not as simple as changing out the APIM.
