mrs315
Hello Fellow edge owners! Really hoping someone can help me with my current issue! I have a 2014 Edge SEL. Today when starting my car the touch screen display is blue. Just plain old blue. The auto still works but the display itself does not. Not even for my backup camera. I have tried the "Hard reset" option of holding down the power and the right arrow on the seek for several seconds with no luck. Anyone else know what this issue could be. Just got this car in April :( Happy Monday!

onyxbfly
Hey there welceom to the forum. Sorry to hear about your issues. My first thought is that the APIM is on its way out. You have a couple of choices: Replace the APIM or upgrade to SYNC3 Which would require you to replace the APIM, touch screen, USB hub, GPS antenna and something else I may be forgetting. The difference between MFT2 (the version you have) and SYNC3 are night and day. With SYNC3 you can use Android Auto or Apple Carplay. mrs315
Thank you! I had someone which out on another group with a Sync 3 with all the bills and whistles for $526 shipped. Obviously its a refurbished one and I would have to do the replacement myself. (Youtube makes it look easy ?) I've been looking up parts (APIM, Sync 3) and it seems its not a cheap fix but I also have no choice. Which would you suggest replace APIM or go full swing with the sync
onyxbfly
I did the full SYNC3 upgrade in my lady's 2013 SEL when it started dying on her. Ironically enough she missed the recall on having the APIM replaced but always remembered to tell me that it is causing her grief after the fact..... Install takes about 20-30 minutes. Doesn't require anything special in terms of tools. Either way you go, you might want to invest in a trim removal kit which should run you around $10-$20. I purchased all of my SYNC3 kits from @TXFRDOwner.
