If your ride never saw their dyno then it was truly irresponsible and borderline neglectful of them to tune your ride. Again not bashing them. But here is my line of thought. There are dozens of people who have edges and fusions with full bolt ons etc. In the past LMS stated that they would not tune them unless they brought their rides to them to dyno tune them. If your ride never saw their dyno they basically did some calculations and said something along the lines that these mods should net xxx kinda power and adjusted the tune to match. Unfortunately we found out how that worked out. Mistakes happen and at times mistakes can be costly. I judge a company not by their mistakes but how they handle them. Some mistakes can be rectified others are fatal as in the case of your blown engine. LMS Offering a refund is the very bare minimum that they can do. Its akin to a slap in the face, but they made an effort to do right by you and that has to account for something. I most definitely agree that based on my vehicle they should have said we need to tune this on a dyno. This is definitely well said & good for future reference

I have had the LMS tune for about 1.5 years now, no issues except unacceptable (to me) harsh shifts, even at low throttle, that they corrected by going back to "stock shift tune". Just got worried from your experiences and want to be pro-active to detect if anything might go wrong. My personal displeasure with them are mainly with the lack of "features" and updates. I have asked them several times to enable the current gear status which other tuners can enable, for which LMS claimed is not possible, and lack of updated tunes. I know they came up with V3 (for 2015-2018 models) but that was back in Nov. 2017. And the V3 tune is not available on 89 Tunes!. The shift points I agree are insanely harsh everyone I bought for a spin was like jesus! I honestly didn’t have time to check or play around much with this Tune sadly. I got it & immediately started having issues then Pop.

Unless you made changes to your build after they made their custom one off tune for you. Then I can see how that is applicable. Any change made after the tune and you did not inform them to receive a new tune to compensate for the change is not on them. It took me a week to tune my car after receiving my tuner. I left my laptop at work and we were closed for Christmas break. I could have gotten it, but I was on break and did not want to sacrifice my time with family and friends in order to do so. Ya I was in Mexico on Vacation when I ordered it then Covid happened & I got delayed it was a annoying time. So I was pretty shocked when they brought that up. I even said I emailed you a week ago to start the process why there was a delay In my eyes is irrelevant some buy it & set it up asap, others take there time.. I was in no rush. ??♂️
UrbanFree
I really do hope people have better luck then a few of us seem to have experienced. I had a worst case outcome sadly & I just needed to express my experience. This experience I really had hoped would have been smoother then it went. I’d say overall I’m at about 5/10 on how I feel about it now. That may even be generous but I’m out a pretty penny unexpectedly so It tends to leave you feeling that way. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
First: Livernois has always claimed access to the widest possible parameters when tuning due to a close relationship with Ford. IDK if that relationship still exists, but that was also given as a reason why they DID NOT use certain parameters that other tuners were adjusting. Not "safe" in their opinion. Second: Dyno tuning - as long as the owner is straight up with the tuner what mods are on the vehicle, it is the tuner's responsibility to make the decision whether a dyno tune is called for or not. And dyno tuning is no guarantee, having seen dyno tuned vehicles later blow up on the street or track. Third: No tuner is immune to having their customer's engine blow up on their watch, so that IS a risk you take. But it is nice to gain insight into your vehicle during the tuning process, IF you want that level of involvement. Some tuners accommodate you, some don't.

handfiler
Its best to stick with a tuner that specializes in the ecoboost platform rather than someone that supports multiple brands. I've been running a tune from JDM Engineering in my Mustang for 6 years. It took one data log and one revision to get it dialed in perfectly. They support Ford platforms and nothing else. I think on a completely stock 2.7 the Livernois tune is probably just fine. If you're going add-ons like bigger turbos, down pipes etc. look for a specialist.

Edge5280
I'll add my .02. I've been running the Livernois E30/91 octane tune now for nearly one and a half years with zero issues, except maybe hurting my PTU with over zealous launches when I was figuring out launch points. My shifts are really firm and I would expect and want them to be for a performance tune. If you want buttery smooth imperceptible shifts except for the tach moving, then maybe this hasn't the sophistication for you. I come from the era of nasty cammed 455 cu in backed byTH400s with stout calibrations that knock your fillings out on the shifts. Quick firm shifts used to mean less band wear and faster ETs in my experience. Anyway, I live at a higher altitude, nearly 5000' and race track is 6000. With Draggy 13.3 and high 4 0-60, couple 10ths slower with just the 91 performance tune, I consider great for a 4660 lb family vehicle especially in my location. Livernois has been great answering all my questions and I have tunes from crap 87 to 93/E30 to 100+ race gas. I'm completely satisfied and drive mine everywhere in this tune. I understand more is better, too much is not enough for some, and fully support anyone wanting to go faster. I would think when you cross the line from stock tuning to aftermarket bigger and better, upgrading to a custom hands on dyno tune should be part of the plan. I'm hoping to find a reasonable dyno day to get comparative numbers for myself.

I am running the E30 now and can't get the power down through my current wheel setup. Ive got some lightweight rims and grippy tires on the way. should be able to run 13.1-13.2....
