bubbadewsky
I went to the dealership today for antifreeze for my 2014 Edge and they told me they just changed the recommended antifreeze to a new type green that is not the old green or yellow. dolsen
this is from 2016, so of course isn't current if there are new "best practices", but a good starting point nonetheless

My wife's 2015 Mustang and my 2017 Sport used the Orange, and when I recently changed the water pump on the Mustang I found that Ford has changed the coolant spec to Yellow earlier this year. It looks more green than yellow. http://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/quickref/FCSD%20Motorcraft%20Yellow%20Antifreeze-Coolant%20Backward%20Compatability.pdf Edited August 27, 2020 by 1004ron
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Ford may allow mixing orange and yellow. Be a purist. If you are going to use yellow, flush out the orange first. Or switch to an aftermarket Orange, such as from Peak, Prestone, or Zerex.
Chipster
I wish these damn coolants were actually the color indicated on the chart. My 2016 "Orange" looks Red to me. That seems to be the case with other color coolants as well, with them not exactly colored as indicated.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Add to that the variance in human perception systems, and you got a big mess, lol.
