Svaresi
Driver door switch BAD what to do should be a recall on driver door issues. It's across multiple years and models. My 2013 ford edge has this issue and I'm now waiting on jump start due to it draining battery Edited August 21, 2020 by 1004ron Duplicate posts and threads merged
Perblue
? The driver door latch is mechanical, I'm not sure how it could drain the battery. I never had a problem with my 2013 or 2019.

At the same time you must have a weak battery or drive short distances. My 13 always turned off all the lights even with the door left open for extended periods and never had an issue starting afterwards .

What's actually happening with yours that leads you to believe that its your door latch causing the battery to drain?

bpainter03
Hello! Just purchased a 2014 edge yesterday and noticed a couple of times the ajar warning with the door shut. I did a VIN recall search and was not able to find any applicable to my vehicle. If this is not a safety recall is it just a notice letter from Ford? What actions were needed by owners? Could anyone forward a PII redacted copy of the letter to me? Thanks! Brad
enigma-2
This is the recall you're probably thinking of https://www.mcdavidford.com/door-latch-recall.htm Theres no recall on the switch failure that I'm aware of. Youtube has videos showing how to replace it yourself.
