slb
hi, i just got my edge saturday and was poking around the forum. looks like a lot of good info. i upgraded from 1999 maxima with 4 speed automatic. here is my dumb question. when i am driving down the road at say 60 or 70 mph, how would i know if i am in 6th gear? does anyone know what you should tach out at? is that how we would know? thanks scott
IZZYAZ
At 60 mph in 6th gear I am running right around 1400 rpm. At 70 it is running around 1500-1600 rpm. As far as knowing what gear you are in, you can always count the number of shifts or lock out OD and when you get to cruising speed turn the OD back on and watch the tach drop. 818EDGE
70 mph when it drops down to 5th gear is about 2200 rpm. Usually if you are on a hill or a headwind. Basically anything that isn't just easy cruising.
