Edgar Edgeworthy
Time to replace a cracked windshield on my 2011 Ford Edge Limited. Safelite is asking me if the car has rain sensing windshield wipers. How can I tell?
akirby
Standard on limited 302A which also includes BLIS and adaptive cruise. It should also appear in the settings menu to turn them off and on.
enigma-2
First, if your wipers automatically turn on when raindrops come in contact with the windshield then you have a sensor. Spray some water on the windshield. You can also check by looking from the outside – behind the rear view mirror. If you see a strip of lens or film that faces the outside that is adjoining your IR light sensor. It shoots out an IR beam, hits water droplets and the light refracts in different directions. omar302
As stated above, two other ways to know, if it is equipped with rain sensing wipers the wiper stalk will have "Auto" written on it and there will be this plastic cover behind/above the interior rear view mirror.
