bajajohn
2013 ford edge 6cyl sel Last summer had the complete ac system -compressor, hoses lines, pressure switch etc replaced. Drove 40 miles and no cooling. Took it back to mechanic -- said it was faulty pressure switch and replaced it . Drove from Phoenix AZ to San Diego and it has cool air but a whirring sound upon acceleration from the compressor. Can feel compressor surging at idle and then whirring sound upon acceleration. Drove it back to Phoenix for warranty work. Mechanic said it was low on Freon due to faulty valve at high side. They evacuated and put new valves in high and low side. Drove back to San Diego . First light II came to same whirring noise upon acceleration. The noise immediately stops when I turn off the ac. turn ac back on and noise starts again. Both the mechanic and I are at wits end . Any one else have this problem?
