PaulSchott
I'm assuming gasoline. Are you parking in a garage? Time to take a good look (and sniff) at the engine compartment. Evap system, fuel lines, etc. Fumes getting into the cowl area from someplace. Any check engine lights on, Gas cap.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Is it gas or propane smell? Is it under hard acceleration or under cruise / mild acceleration, as long as A/C is on? The exhaust flaps behind the bumper cover may be stuck open. The flex pipe in the exhaust may be cracked or broken. Propane smell usually happens on AWD vehicles when the PTU fluid leaks out.
