gene328is
Hi everyone, as title suggests, today I observed my tire guy jack my car from the lower control arm to fix a puncture... I was a disappointed he did not use the jack points... is this something I need to worry about? He assured me it was safe...?
IWRBB
It's fine. A single LCA is capable of handling 100% of the weight of the vehicle, and then some. I mean, you CAN do damage jacking on the wrong control arm at the wrong spot- but assuming he had a clue as to what he was doing, it's not a problem. 2FAST4U
There's no problem. I do this all the time when jacking up my Edge to change from all-season tires to winter tires… and back to all-season when springtime is back. Claude.
