garytvh
When I leave my 2019 Ford Edge Titanium outside overnight in sub-freezing weather, the liftgate will not open. The latch disengages regardless of method used to open the liftgate. The door opens about 2 inches, but the powering strut does not function at all. If I leave the Edge running for 10-20 minutes with high setting on the heater, the strut eventually works. If the car is left in garage overnight, wher the temperature does not go below freezing, there is no problem.
akirby
I would suspect a bad electrical connection to the motor. Metal shrinks when it’s cold and loses connection. Just take it back to the dealer when it’s going to be sub freezing overnight.
