I had exactly the same reaction when I opened the hood on my October-made 2020 Ford Edge Titanium - disappointed.

Life lesson learned. BEFORE taking delivery of a vehicle (new or used) open every door, look under every cover to make sure everything you expect to be there really is.  A lot of buyers are surprised their vehicle doesn't have a spare tire (sometimes from the factory) or tools are missing or items you had on an earlier model of the same vehicle are gone like....engine cover, hood insulation, storage space top center of the dash, storage cubby lower left in the dash and one of the two horns.

I already did the following mods (hood insulation, storage cubby lower left and added two horns). I'd like to add the engine cover but I'm a little confused as to which fasteners are needed or are already there but the parts guy at the Ford dealer could probably tell me... --> As for the "storage space top center of the dash"  , mine looks fine and I wonder what needs to be done to it? :headscratch:

I was also shocked to find no engine cover on my 2020 Ford Edge Titanium, I ordered the cover K2GZ-6A949-A from Ford online, Local Ford was no help....Got the cover in the other day 64.00 was shocked that it is foam but fits well on to front 2 engine posts and fit right for the motor, ordered part number Ag92-00812-D for the stud on the passenger side and part number CM52-6A957-A for the drivers side post, not sure if the drivers side is the right part for sure, will update when it comes in.

I will update when the rest of the parts come in.

Also there was no pad for underside of the hood, that I ordered from my local Ford dealership it was no problem at all and fit very well for around 110.00 came with mounting clips with it, fit great.

I have always been happy with my 2020 Ford edge titanium.  Was purchase  brand new.  Had all the bells and whistles was to be my last car purchase.  Now entering my senior years. When you looked under the hood everything was covered clean tidy no mess.  Until 60,000 miles oil change and I needed a oil pan repair.  Was taking a over country trip so went to service to make sure it would make trip.  Needles to say I need to have work done prior to going.   So we scheduled and got work done. Took our trip one week. Came back other repair not done. Had to call to get second repair going. Needless to say the got work done returned car.  Now two weeks later returned less then quoted good.  Sad part two days later husband drives and serpentine belt and air belt break.  He calls me to come get him.  That’s when I discover my engine cover was not put back on.  When I call to pick it up it’s gone it was n’t on there.
Some where between oil change and two week service repair disappeared.   Oh the dealership claims it was never there!  However I know for fact it was. I had jump start a persons battery. It was there then several months earlier it was there.  Was there when I bought it.   It looks so ugly when you open it up now.   Disheartened  and I don’t know what to do.

Happened to me a few years back. Made the dealer order and pay for a new cover. He said it really wasn't necessary. I said that "that" was my decision and you have no business removing parts ang throwing them away without my knowledge. They replaced it at their expense. They didnt want to, made them understand that if they wanted to keep my business, they lost it, they were going to replace it.

Youre not going to be happy with the cover missing, replace it. At our age, little things like that, matter. If they refuse, tell them you'll pay for the parts, they pay for the labor.

But make certain they understand that they lost it and your future business depends on it getting replaced.

Also buy an extended warranty as you're going to keep the car. There are several secrets to getting it at a good deal. If you ask, I'll tell you what I did to save hundreds.

My pre-owned 2020 did not have an engine cover and when I inquired at the dealership, I was told that the cover and under hood insulation had been discontinued. My thought was that it was a financial decision by Ford, or it created a potential engine compartment excessive heat issue.

2019 most seem to not have engine cover, but still hood blanket. Most Fords lost the engine cover that year, even without the updated engine, and it is a difficult one to get, the Lincoln one is easier (as it didn't lose it). Note that the configuration of the oil fill and dipstick changed for 2019 and previous 2.0 engine covers do not match.

You can see if you have the attachment points (the ball end it snaps on to, and the threaded stem).
